With Ascension, Peace Replaces Suffering

This practice is so powerful in it's simplicity. As we rest more fully in this present moment, the suffering vanishes. We are willing to relinquish the story - any identification. We are able to return to our natural state of innocence where all freedom lies.

The power of this Teaching - this practice of living life in the present moment, continues to amaze and tickle me. "I'll be darned!," I've exclaimed again and again as the veils of illusion slip ever-so sweetly away. Yet, the resistance of the mind to rest here in the infinite, unmoving peace, joy and love of God is really profound.

I find it quite brilliant: we fall asleep at some point in this life to our natural state of freedom, and begin to believe that we are the movement of the mind. We are hypnotized. In that, the mind tells us that our freedom was, and is, a fairy tale. Underneath that voice, a larger part of us knows different. It's the part of us that is waiting for someone to pull the curtain on it all. It's that part that is infinitely patient, wise and serene - waiting for us to wake up.

Back in the movement, we are asleep at the helm of a life that could be lived with a curious sense of discovery and in eternal, unshakeable, peace. Not a concept that the mind comes up with of peace, but rather, an all-consuming peace where any story of me can not exist. We find that it was those stories that have been our prison - our attachment to these stories our jailers. The suffering vanishes when we are willing to relinquish the story - any identification.

But, keep it simple. Keep choosing for this practice - for the Ascension Attitudes; for the Ascendant. This is actually where the power is - in resting with alertness. As your personal stories are rewritten, until there is no more story at all, you will discover that you are gaining back that natural state of freedom. And even more interestingly, that it never actually went anywhere while you dreamed of all that suffering.

All joy to YOU, oh brave explorer!
